Happy Fourth of July!

Whenever I catch the scent of beach bonfires crackling on that cool Pacific Ocean sand I’m instantly transported back to the days of celebrating The Fourth of July as a kid with my grandparents. My cousins and I wreaked havoc on our grandparents and kept their hands full as we set off smoke bombs in their kitchen and detonated every explosive we could get our hands on.

As I grew up and heard more and more of my grandparent’s story, the significance of Independence Day began to fully resonate with me. For my grandparents, and for the millions of immigrants who have come to share our blessings of liberty since that first Fourth of July in 1776; America was a life-changing opportunity to think big and achieve greater things.

Of course, we’re far from a perfect country. Imperfection is one of the things we have in common along with everyone else on the planet. But I’m so thankful and in awe of my grandparents’ bold decision to leave all life as they knew it behind in Greece and begin a new journey to enjoy the full political, civil, and economic freedoms that our founders declared to be the rightful inheritance of all mankind.

Therefore, I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve the clients of Metcalf Property Management who are First-generation immigrants, and are creating the same path for their own family as my grandfather did for me. I am continuously amazed by the new ideas, skills and entrepreneurial spirit that is brought with them to enhance America’s freedoms and opportunities

Despite our imperfections, despite our flaws, despite our disagreements, despite the various trials we’ve endured throughout the past year and ALL the years previous… Independence Day is worthy of our recognition and our celebration. Independence Day signifies the freedom on which this country was founded. The freedom to enjoy inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Happy Birthday America, Happy Fourth of July!
